We Remember Steve JobsOctober 5, 2011 was a day of great grief and sorrow for RedLime. While busy at work, we heard the unthinkable - Steve Jobs had passed. The world stopped for a moment. No. No. This could not be. What? No. A rumor, it had to be a rumor!Sure, everyone knew he was ill... countless people have discussed this for quite some time now. And yet... Steve Jobs dead? Not possible. He was going to be here eternally. He was bigger than life. He WAS Apple. He was simply - Steve Jobs. We spent the rest of the day discussing our shock, our dismay. We'd trail off into silence and then start up again. Steve Jobs. Dead. Unbelievable. It's now been several days and we are still reeling. It's so hard to believe he's gone. We keep stumbling across blog posts and facebook updates with "I met Steve Jobs" anecdotes. Even the shortest handshake and a quick and simple "hello" have transformed so many people. We are touched and saddened. What a remarkable and amazing person he was. We never had the opportunity to meet Steve Jobs, but we feel we knew him well. RedLime is what it is today, because of him. We are able to do the things we do, because of him. We're productive, because of him. We can keep in touch with our clients and they can reach us via a plethora of ways, because of him. We'll never again be lost on a country road in the middle of nowhere, because of Steve Jobs. But most importantly of all - our lives are greatly improved, because of Steve Jobs. Were it not for Steve Jobs, RedLime would not exist. Cherie would not be a graphic designer and would never have learned the computer skills she has if the world were Windows-based. Joe would likely be into programming, but definitely not into web design or development. And thinking even further than that - would the internet and world be the same place? We say no. There may not have even been a reason for RedLime to exist. And so we honor you, Steve Jobs. You did more in your 56 years than 56 average people could ever hope to accomplish with a lifetime of possibilities. You've forever changed our lives. And we are forever grateful. - Joe and Cherie
